Round One:
Jalen Ramsey – Safety – Florida State
The Dolphins could go in a lot of different directions in round one. They need linebackers, offensive lineman, cornerbacks, and could probably use a top defensive end prospect believe it or not. Olivier Vernon has looked bad thus far but calling him out singularly is an injustice to the rest of the defense that deserve their names mentioned. Cameron Wake is not getting any younger and actually appears to be slowing down. Miami could very well go with the top rated DE prospect Joey Bosa but Miami fans still have not forgotten the ill fated drafting of his father John Bosa who has gone down in Dolphins history as one of the worst draft picks ever.
Ramsey however fills a need and is one of the best early college favorites to go in the top 10 of next years draft. Ramsey has the makings of being another Charles Woodson type of player and while he is playing more corner this year at Florida State, he is far and away the best projected safety in next years draft. Drafting Ramsey makes sense as it fills a gaping hole opposite Reshad Jones who over the next two seasons will have to be replaced as well.
Other player of note: Cornerback Vernon Hargreaves – Florida.
