On December 3rd, 1973 the Miami Dolphins faced off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a late season contest. The Dolphins would lead the game 30-3 at half-time scoring 14 points on the legs of Dick Anderson. Anderson intercepted Steeler’s quarterback Terry Bradshaw in the first quarter and returned it 27 yards for the touchdown to open the games scoring. In the 2nd quarter he would add a 38 yard interception return for a touchdown.
Over the entire game, Anderson had four interceptions for a total of 121 yards. The two interceptions returned for touchdowns set a then NFL record. The four interceptions would also set an NFL record at the time.
