Not a lot of things went well for the 7-9 2012 Miami Dolphins and in an early season game against the Cardinals, not much went well either. The Dolphins lost the game in overtime but not because of Brian Hartline.
Hartline caught 12 passes in the game for 253 yards and one touchdown. His longest an 80 yard score. Hartline’s efforts were for nothing however as the Dolphins defense failed to hold a fourth quarter lead giving up 14 points to the Cardinals on their way to overtime.
The efforts of Hartline eclipsed the previous record held by Chris Chambers who caught 15 passes for 238 yards in a 2005 game against the Buffalo Bills.
Hartline would spend only two more seasons with the Dolphins before leaving via free agency and joining the Cleveland Browns prior to the 2015 season.
