Kyle Shanahan
Currently – offensive coordinator Atlanta Falcons
Shanahan has been an OC now since 2008. The problem is he has been the OC for some bad teams. Houston, Washington, Cleveland, and now in his first year with the Falcons. His name continues to be brought up as a head coaching candidate and while his resume also includes stints as a quarterbacks coach and wide-receiver coach he lacks the power offense and success to get him that job.
2016 will almost certainly include his name when teams begin to interview candidates but Shanahan may not find a suitor. Another problem he faces is the fact that almost any team that would hire him will do so because they just fired their coach for lack of winning. It’s not a good situation to be in for a coach that hasn’t led an offense to playoff productivity. Still there is a lot of potential here and he does have the trench work to make the jump.
