New York Giants

New head coach – Ben McAdoo

Previous head coach – Tom Coughlin

The New York Giants were regarded as the top destination for head coaching candidates. Of all the teams, the Giants have the most balanced front office although general manager Jerry Reese is on a short leash. Ownership however is one of the best in the NFL and the Mara family made a tough decision letting/forcing Tom Coughlin to retire.

Coughlin is one of the most respected names in the NFL coaching community but the Giants have failed to become consistent after their last Super Bowl win and they simply weren’t competitive for the 2nd year in a row in the NFC East.

After all the talk of who would be ideal for the job in New York, the team opted to promote offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo to the position. McAdoo makes a lot of sense because he will bring continuity to the team and will continue to work with Eli Manning keeping the same offensive system in place. McAdoo will bring a different energy and the Giants are hoping that his youth will reinvigorate the franchise.
