Leonard Floyd – LB – Georgia

The Jets want to get faster on defense and already have an impressive defensive line. So their next step is to improve at linebacker.

Floyd can drop back into coverage as well as rush the passer which makes his skillset an ideal combination for head coach Todd Bowles.

Someone like Floyd can not only potentially cover a Gronkowski but ease the pass rush burden off Muhammad Wilkerson, if he re-signs.

Other than linebacker, the Jets will have to think about adding a young quarterback to the fray. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a 33-year-old journeyman QB and Geno Smith is losing his place on that team by the minute. They’ll also need to explore the tight end options in the draft.
