Kelvin Sheppard

The Miami Dolphins are going into the 2016 off-season with a major hole at lineabacker and they are rumored to have the position as one of their top goals of the off-season. You can thank Kelvin Sheppard for that.

Sheppard got a lot better towards the end of the season when the Dolphins were eliminated from playoff contention and the bell in his head rang out that he would soon be a free agent. He must have spent time looking over his early performances on film and realized that his payday wasn’t going to be very much. Despite his season ending performance, Sheppard was erratic, out of position, was making bad reads, and couldn’t cover the tight end to say nothing of getting pressure on the quarterback.

Why Sheppard remained a starter all season is anyone’s guess and I think that had the Dolphins stuck with Zach Vigil early in the season he may have had a more impactful year or at the very least learned something. Sheppard was supposed to be better than what how he performed in 2015 and it’s because of that he turned out be so disappointing.
