Yes the Dolphins signed Mario Williams to a team friendly two year, essentially one year deal. They then watched Olivier Vernon parlay eight games into the biggest defensive end contract in NFL history. With the Giants. Miami needs depth at defensive end. Cam Wake is coming off an Achilles injury and is 34 years old. Derrick Shelby signed with the Falcons, and all that is left is Terrence Fede.

The market for DE this year was top heavy and those players have all signed new deals elsewhere.

Chris Long

The 30 year old has admitted that his play the last two seasons were crap. He is visiting teams but interest has been lukewarm. He is an option to provide rotational and situational depth/starter that could give more life to Cam Wake.

Robery Ayers

Ayers was replaceable in New York who dropped a ton of money on the lap of Olivier Vernon. Not so sure he is much of an impact player at this point in his career.

Yes the defensive end market is that thing right now.

Defensive tackle

The Dolphins have opted to keep Earl Mitchell and his low salary but that does not guarantee him a roster spot. Miami needs to add some meat to that line.

Paul Soliai

Soliai has reportedly told people that he would like to return to Miami and that feeling may be mutual if the price is right. Soliai pared with Ndamukong Suh could be a very good run stuffing tandem.

B.J. Raji

The days of Raji being the man up front are over but so are the days of him being paid like the “man” up front. Raji is a depth player with a lot of staring experience and he could be used as a rotational fit with the Dolphins.
