  1. Miami Dolphins

"Will Jackson – CB – Houston"

There was a lot of discussion with this pick for obvious reasons and not one of us would have taken Jackson in this slot if it were our pick to make. Both Cat and myself however believed that this would be the selection for the Dolphins. There has been some rumors circulating that the Dolphins have Jackson listed higher than any other corner not named Hargreaves. Jackson is a big physical corner with a solid combination of speed and has the “twitch” movement that teams look for in corner backs.

Jackson is able to play man-v-man and zone and has the speed to keep up with most of the receivers in the league, especially the AFC.

Given how the board has shaped up through this mock, we all had different opinions on where the Dolphins should go with this pick. Paul is hoping that Miami goes with Alabama’s Reggie Ragland. The 2nd best linebacker prospect in this years draft. Cat and myself both pointed to offensive tackle Jack Conklin as a legit option for the Dolphins and we all agreed that Eli Apple, the Ohio State corner is also an option but we felt 13 was a little too high for him.

Other options for the Dolphins is defensive end Kevin Dodd of Clemson. Dodd is a very solid prospect and the Dolphins have an obvious need at the position but Miami may feel that the addition of Andre Branch and Mario Williams is enough to skip DE in the first round.
