The Miami Dolphins were without Jay Ajayi for today’s first contact practice. Ajayi rode a bike instead while the rest of the players practiced.
The injury is being reported as a bone bruise that caused swelling in his knee. Ajayi spoke with reporters after practice and informed them that he would likely miss three days of practice as a precaution.
The news is good for the Dolphins who are thin at running back even with Arian Foster on the roster.
More news from today.
With Matt Moore scheduled for a day off, rookie Brandon Doughty and Zac Dysert got more reps.

Despite more than a few members of the media touting the practice of Jakeem Grant today, Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel slammed the breaks.
I deal with this every single year. The media is always obsessed with the little tiny WR (Jakeem Grant). He wasn't that good today. SMH

Defensive end Chris McCain is making a solid impression early in camp. Adam Beasley of the Herald points out that he is aware of others watching the Dolphins defensive ends knowing that some good talent is going to be released. Perhaps that interest could spark a trade in August.
The Palm Beach Post has taken note of McCain as well.

Back to Omar Kelly’s thoughts, Arian Foster is running at only 70%? That’s neither good news or bad news but he did say he was 100% before he signed with the Dolphins.
Arian Foster can't be all the way recovered from his Achilles injury… https://t.co/AEv2Pk11aM
