Miami Dolphins: 10 Players Miami needs to drop after 2016 season
By Brian Miller
Mario Williams
2017 salary
$10.5 million
If released
$2.5 million dead money
$8 million cap savings
This should be a huge no-brainer move. Williams is not coming close to what Miami had hoped for. While he will sometimes show some signs of his former self, there is literally no consistency from Williams outside of just being bad.
Miami had hoped that Williams would do better in a system more suited to his talents but Williams has made no impact on run defense and no impact against the pass. His biggest impact on the team thus far in 2016 is his $6.5 million cap hit.
Williams represented Miami’s cheap way to getting a name on the field and he is yet another Mike Tannenbaum failure.
