Koa Misi

2017 salary

$4.77 million

If released

$500k in dead money

$4.2 million cap savings

Misi will likely finish the 2016 season on injured reserve for the 2nd season in a row. That is no reason to consider releasing him at the end of the 2016 season. His lack of playmaking ability however is.

Misi has been largely inconsistent on the playing field and while he racks up tackles, he does not tend to make plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. Misi was far better in pass coverage but even that has changed in the last couple of years.

A liability in the pass rush game and now in the pass coverage game, Misi’ doesn’t offer much in the way of run stopping either. Misi is more or less a very good back-up option in Miami but the Dolphins lack the quality starters at linebacker.

In 2013 Misi signed a four year contract extension and the Dolphins haven’t really been rewarded with their faith in the former 2010 2nd round pick.
