Miami Dolphins week 10 fantasy players
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins are in out West today to play the San Diego Chargers and that brings up the question of your fantasy football rosters.
Late games are hard to predict because in most cases you must have a replacement ready by the 1:00 games. Nothing is worse than selecting an early replacement for a 4:00 player and have that player tank.
Personally, I like the later afternoon match-ups along with Sunday and Monday night players. In other words, if all things seem equal, I go with the players who have the later start. This way I have someone playing later than could win it for me.
Moving to the Dolphins, this week brings us that conundrum. Do you start a player who has traversed the country and may be a little jet lagged? Or do you go with the hot hand?
Jay Ajayi
Ajayi was drafted in the mid-later rounds of most drafts and after three weeks many teams dropped him entirely. Oh those fortunate waiver wire hawks. Ajayi should be starting every week and despite today’s tough match-up against a 4th ranked Chargers run stopping defense, you have to go with the hot hand.
Ajayi faced the number one defense last week and still put up 111 yards. There is little reason to believe that he won’t be a major contributor today.
Jarvis Landry
Landry is by far the Dolphins most optimal weapon but he has a banged up shoulder and his status for today’s game is questionable. That creates a problem for anyone who needs to make a 1:00 decision. While there is no definite, it’s hard to believe that Landry won’t play so the real question is how will his shoulder affect his involvement?
A bigger question is the Chargers pass rush specialist Joey Bosa. Bosa has been on fire since getting on the field and Ryan Tannehill will be under a lot of pressure all day. Landry is his go-to guy so today may be a good risk vs. reward.
Ryan Tannehill
Tannehill isn’t a valuable option any week let alone this week. In deeper leagues maybe Tannehill has a roster spot for bye week consideration but his numbers are dropping as the team becomes far more balanced. If you are starting Tannehill today, you are in dire need of a QB and in a league with no other options.
DeVante Parker
Parker shouldn’t be starting and honestly doesn’t deserve a roster spot in most leagues. Franchise/keeper leagues make sense but Parker has been almost non-existent this year.
Kenny Stills
Stills is a good option for PPR leagues but honestly, if you have him on your roster it’s because you are a homer. Stills is far too inconsistent to keep but if you are in a pinch, today may be the day that he gets those PPR points.
Andrew Franks
While it doesn’t look like today will be a kickers duel you never know.
Dolphins defense
San Diego can air it out and have a very solid running game. Miami has had issues stopping the run and have bigger problems in the secondary. Chris Culliver should play corner today but that won’t change too much. I would stay away from the Dolphins defense today.
