Ryan Switzer, WR, North Carolina

Last year Miami took a flyer on the electrifying Jakeem Grant.  He was – is – considered too small for the NFL but his speed and agility gives him a shot.

While he had a great punt return for a touchdown last year he didn’t do much after that.  A liability with the ball in his hands, Grant fumbled numerous times throughout the season and was ineffective on offense.

Like Grant, Switzer is small but not to the extent of Grant.  At 5’8″ Switzer was the guy in the North Carolina offense.  Anyone watching tape on Mitch Trubisky could see that.

This past season Switzer had 96 receptions for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns.  That’s a lot of production.  If you watch his highlights a lot of his work is done once he gets the ball in his hands.

The Dolphins have a large stable of receivers.  If Kenny Stills stays in South Florida then there’s little chance of this happening.  If he’s gone and Miami wants an upgrade of Grant on offense, Switzer is the guy.  It’ll be interesting to see where he stacks up after the combine.
