Most of the original and even the very first post from our site is no longer available. Early software updates and my own inability to grasp the processes for keeping WordPress documents in place have led them to leave this world forever.

Judging by some of my early works, it’s a good thing. Unfortunately far too many still exist. For most of March and April the articles in 2007 were news pieces surrounding free agency and the draft. In May however that began to change as my opinion began to find its editorial pace.

Oh if I could turn back time.

Following the NFL Draft many were down on what Cam Cameron and Randy Mueller were trying to do. Many, including Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas had the early impression that things were about to sink rather fast.

Not this guy!

"Regardless of whether you like everything that Cam Cameron and Randy Mueller have done, you have to like the direction that the team is headed. – Brian Miller (yep that was me)"

I would cry but I already am, at myself, laughing that hard. It got worse however. After signing on for the site as its editor I reached out to the Dolphins internet publications department where I spoke with a man by the name of Scott Stone. It would change my life in many ways.

Scott invited me to something called a Web Weekend which was the teams way of connecting with the fans through those who ran fan websites. Imagine being pulled out of UPS to play for the Dolphins. For me, that’s how I felt. Suddenly I was heading to Miami for a weekend to meet with players and coaches and other Dolphins sites.

Then came Cam Cameron.

I sat in the teams meeting auditorium and listened while Cameron was introduced to the surprisingly large group of web media guests. Cameron took questions and it was a slow start. Slow until “THIS GUY” opened his mouth.

Raising my hand and being called upon I stood and with shaking raspy voice said, “I don’t have a question I just, just, just wanted to thank you for making this team great again”. End of stutter, end of question, end of all my dignity.

Yes that was it. The highlight of our first year here at PhinPhanatic.com.
