Fabian Moreau – CB – UCLA

Moreau is a solid cornerback with a really nasty injury history. In 2015 Moreau suffered a Lisfranc fracture in his foot. He returned in 2016 until he suffered a shoulder injury but this 2nd round projection should be off the Dolphins radar.

The Dolphins can’t afford to take more risks with players and a Lisfranc injuy is one that can reappear at any time over his career and yes, if severe enough, it can threaten that career.

On the field Moreau lacks the kind of speed that the Dolphins seem to covet and the foot injury is going to take some of that speed from him as time goes on. Another issue is that Moreau isn’t a ball finding corner. He has trouble locating the football as Ian Wharton pointed out in his NFL Draft Guide.

With the needs of the Dolphins and the risks the Dolphins are already taking with other players there are healthier options with more upside and less physical downside than Moreau in round two and probably round three as well although he should be long gone by the time Miami picks in round three.

While Moreau is good at defending the run as a corner, Miami needs him to be better defending the pass.
