In 1980 Miami made a draft selection that would lead to the Hall of Fame in Canton and it’s difficult to find any player of that draft class that comes close to Dwight Stephenson.

Stephenson was drafted in the 2nd round of that draft. He played only seven seasons as his career was cut short due to injuries. It is rare for a player with only seven seasons of play to make the Hall.

Miami also drafted defensive back Don McNeal in round one. McNeal spent nine seasons with the Dolphins. In round 7 the Dolphins drafted Joe Rose who is still involved with the organization today. In round eight the Dolphins drafted quarterback David Woodley. His life’s story was a tragic one but in two years he would lead the Dolphins to a Super Bowl.

Who was the best?
