Best players of each Miami Dolphins draft class

Miami didn’t find the same success in ’84 that they had in ’82 and ’83. Jackie Shipp was a first round pick. The linebacker spent five average seasons with the Dolphins. Miami’s need for a linebacker was glaring as they drafted Jay Brophy in round two. His career lasted only three seasons with the Dolphins.

Joe Carter, a running back taken in round four last three years as well. In round 11 Miami Drafted DB Bud Brown. Browns spent his entire five year career in Miami.

Miami fared a little better in ’85. Lorenzo Hampton in round one, Ron Davenport in round six, and Fuad Reveiz in round seven. Both running backs spent their entire five year careers in Miami.

In round four Miami drafted offensive lineman Jeff Dellenbach. Dellenbach would spend 10 of his 16 NFL season with the Dolphins. Starting 87 of the 145 games he played in. He played left tackle, both guard positions, right tackle, and center throughout his career.
