The 1987 draft is more well known for the teams first round draft bust, DE John Bosa. Taken in round one, Bosa started only 21 games in his three year NFL career. He recorded only seven sacks.

Miami did find some success. They drafted RB-WR Troy Stradford in round four. Stradford played only four seasons in Mamii but remains a popular figure around the organization.

In round eight the Dolphins drafted Mark Dennis. The offensive lineman played seven seasons for the Dolphins. He played both tackle positions starting 50 of 90 games.
