Like 1987, the ’88 draft can be remembered for the monumental bust of a first round pick. DE Eric Kumerow. Kumerow spent three years in Miami appearing in 40 games with no starts and five sacks. His sister married John Bosa. Last year their son Joey Bosa was the first round pick of the San Diego Chargers.

Miami did do well with the rest of their ’88 draft actually making it tough to name one player who was the best. But we will. 2nd round pick Jarvis Williams spent six seasons with the Dolphins starting 83 of 91 games. He recorded 14 interceptions.

Tight-end Ferrell Edmunds was taken in round 3 and spent five seasons with the Dolphins scoring 12 touchdowns. Harry Galbreath spent five seasons of his nine year NFL career with Miami starting all by three of his 78 games.

While the above players were solid none really compared to 9th round draft pick Jeff Cross. Cross played both left and right defensive end positions over his eight year career and recorded 59.5 sacks.

Who was the best?
