It would be the last time that the NFL would hold a 12 round draft. In 1993 the draft would drop to eight rounds and then in 1994 it would drop to seven where it has remained.

Miami made the most of the final draft pool. With 15 selections, seven made NFL rosters.

Troy Vincent was everything Miami had hoped he would be. A starter out of the gate, the first round pick made an immediate impact. DE Marco Coleman had a solid four years in Miami before jumping into the free agency pool. He played for six different teams in his career that spanned 14 years. Miami was his longest stay.

In round seven the Dolphins drafted TE Dave Moore. Moore would only play a short half season in Miami but would play 16 years for the Buccaneers.

In round four the Dolphins drafted LB Dwight Hollier. Hollier would spend eight of his nine NFL seasons in Miami starting 54 of 122 games.
