The Dolphins made two solid picks in the ’94 draft and one big mistake. First round pick Tim Bowens would be a huge addition at defensive tackle and would spend his entire 11 year NFL career in Miami.

Bowens was the heart and soul of the Dolphins defensive line and his tenure in Miami lasted through Shula, Jimmy Johnson, and all of Dave Wannstedt’s years.

In round two the Dolphins dropped the ball when they drafted LB Aubrey Beavers. Beavers would last only two short seasons in Miami.

Round three however would add another stellar player to the roster. Tim Ruddy’s 10 year career was played out solely in Miami as he was the anchor at center for the Dolphins through the final years of Marino and into the Jay Fiedler years.
