5 most intriguing Dolphins camp battles of 2017

Number 2: Battle for left guard
When the Dolphins moved Laremy Tunsil outside to left tackle and traded Branden Albert it left a hole at left guard. The Dolphins didn’t address the position specifically in free agency or in the draft. The lack of attention leaves a hole that will have to be earned by the current rostered players.
Most notably Ted Larsen and Kraig Urbik.
Urbik was with the Dolphins last season and played plenty as injuries hit the offensvie line. He has completed seasons under his belt while free agent addition Ted Larsen has seven. Larsen played with Gase in Chicago two seasons ago and was on Chicago’s roster in 2016.
There are other questions on the offensive line that will have a garner a lot more attention, specifically Mike Pouncey’s health. Right guard however is locked down well with Jermon Bushrod and right tackle is held by Ja’Wuan James who really needs to step up this season.
With the right side of the line not facing any real competition yet, the focus will be on the left guard spot and it could have a huge impact on the Dolphins season.
Keep an eye on Isaac Asiata. He will likely start the season as Bushrod’s back-up but that could change and he could challenge one of the left guards if he performs well. Asiata has a mean streak on the field that could make for some fun camp clashes.
Predictions: Kraig Urbik
