5 most intriguing Dolphins camp battles of 2017

Number 1: Battle for receiver
As said on page one, the Dolphins don’t have a lot of top camp competition for starters and while wide-receiver won’t be a battel for a starting job it is going to be very interesting and fun to watch. The reason? Miami has a lot of talent at the position.
We know DeVante Parker, Jarvis Landry, and Kenny Stills are locks to start but things get quite muddled after them. Last year the Dolphins trade two draft picks to move up for Leonte Carroo and he did not have anything close to the impact Miami had hoped for. The same can be said for speedy Jakeem Grant.
Miami will, barring injury, keep only five or possibly six receivers which means that potentialy as little as two or as many as three positions will be up for grabs between Carroo, Grant, and the talented youth Miami has pushing them.
Last year when the Dolphins needed WR help they turned to Rashawn Scott over Carroo and because of that many believe that Scott is ahead of Carroo but that isn’t the case. He doesn’t have the draft pedigree and therefore needs to really show he has more upside and potential.
It’s not just Scott competing with Carroo, Drew Morgan looked very good during off-season practices and the Dolphins are high on Isaiah Ford who they drafted in round seven. Ford is a player many believed would be drafted higher.
And then there is Grant who we really don’t know where he will fit. We only know that he has a ton of speed and should be a special teams player from the start but has fumble and handling issues.
The battle for those one or two spots will be between Carroo, Ford, Morgan, and Scott and will come down to who makes the most mistakes.
