The Miami Dolphins may be looking for quarterback help with uncertainty surrounding Ryan Tannehill after another knee injury.

There are three obvious names that have been discussed today by the fans and media. Jay Cutler, Tony Romo, and of course Colin Kaepernick. The question is will any of them take a backseat to Matt Moore?

The Jay Cutler connection is an obvious one. Adam Gase knows Jay on both a personal and professional level. They consider each other friends. Tony Romo was unceremoniously relegated to the back up role after Dak Prescott took the Cowboys to the playoffs and announced his retirement when a trade couldn’t be consummated.

Would Tony Romo be an option? Maybe but can Miami rely on his horrible back situation?

Then there is Colin Kaepernick who Josina Anderson of ESPN reports has been mentioned behind closed doors at the Dolphins facility.

The thought of Kaepernick joining the Dolphins is a hotly debated topic on social media and message boards. Some believe he is too erratic and doesn’t have personal push to excel as a cerebral quarterback. Others don’t want him in Miami because he started the whole “kneel” during the National Anthem trend last year. From comments that came close to supporting Castro to his play on the field, fans are questioning if he would help or hinder the team.

Two things however stand out. The Dolphins trio of Mike Tannenbaum, Chris Grier, and Adam Gase will make that decision. They will base it on who they believe can help the team more. Either as a back-up to Matt Moore or as the eventual starter until Tannehill is back.

The fact that Miami may have mentioned his name only lends itself to more criticism, debate, and confusion over the Tannehill injury. Yet we don’t know the context of that name being mentioned. What is certain is that Miami will be adding a quarterback in the next 24 hours regardless of Tannehill’s health. Why? Because Tannehill will at minimum miss a week or two and the Dolphins will need a camp body. The question is who will that player be?
