10 Players to Watch in Thursday’s Preseason Game
Raekwon McMillian, Linebacker
Raekwon McMillian, the second round pick in the 2017 draft from Ohio State University, has played well in practices so far this offseason. In fact, he has played well enough to be the starting middle linebacker on defense.
In training camp, Raekwon has been the play caller and the quarterback of the defense. It will be interesting to watch if this is too much to handle for the 20 year old rookie.
Linebacker was a big concern for the Dolphins last season, so it would be excellent if Raekwon could come in right away and have an impact. Another concern last season was the poor run defense, which is one of his strengths.
Also, keep notice of how well he plays in pass coverage because that was a concern when he came out of the draft. This game will show if he is capable of being a two- or three-down linebacker.
