10 Players to Watch in Thursday’s Preseason Game
Jakeem Grant, Wide Receiver
In his second year in the NFL, Jakeem Grant has not been able to see the field much. Last year he was plagued with inconsistent hands which resulted in the coaches not being able to trust him to hold onto the ball. This has been something he worked on heavily this offseason.
In training camp, Jakeem has dropped quite a few punts similarly to last season. On the other hand, he has clearly improved as a receiver and has become more dynamic.
In practice on Tuesday he caught two more deep touchdown passes, one by Jay Cutler and the other by Brandon Doughty. Jakeem has the speed to be a game changer, but he can be even better if matches his speed with improved fundamentals.
Like Drew Morgan, Jakeem should be given an ample amount of chances in this game to prove to the coaches why he deserves to be on the field on offense and special teams.
