Jay Cutler

It was questionable to include Cutler in this given his short framework in practice but there is no question that over the last four days, no one has been under the microscope more than the Dolphins 2017 starting quarterback.

It was reported early on that Gase had to convince Cutler to come out of retirement. Something that Cutler quickly dismissed. The fact that Cutler will now end his career with Gase may put an end to the miserable season he had in 2016 that ended with shoulder surgery.

Cutler has shown no visible signs of that surgery and every indication is that he has lost nothing in his extremely strong-arm. The biggest question is whether or not he can build chemistry with his receivers quick enough to make an impact early in 2017. Most of the receivers have had two or three years with Ryan Tannehill and it’s easier for receivers to learn those quarterback tendencies. Now they have to start over on a short calendar.

Regardless, Cutler seems as though he has mixed well with his teammates on and off the field which is the first start to obtaining chemistry.
