The Miami Dolphins will be without starting quarterback Jay Cutler for a period of unknown time with multiple fractured ribs.

Adam Gase spoke to the media a short while ago and informed the reporters that Cutler will indeed be day-to-day with “multiple fractured ribs”. Gase said that the injury is more or less tolerance of pain than anything else.

There is no timetable yet established for his return but it sounds as though it will mostly be up to Cutler and he is tolerating the ribs. For now the Dolphins will go with Matt Moore. They were scheduled to meet with former training camp quarterback David Fales as a potential back-up to Moore.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported today that the Dolphins will return Cutler to his starting role when he is healthy. Regardless of how Moore plays while Cutler is out. His caveat to that is that if Moore plays like Dan Marino he will keep his job. O.k.

On another injury front, the Dolphins don’t expect Laremy Tunsil’s knee injury to be a huge issue. According to the same Salguero article, Tunsil’s knee issue is not serious. Whether he makes it back on a short week is another story but it sounds like he will be fine. The Dolphins rolled with Jesse Davis after Tunsil went down around the same time as Cutler.

Moore finished the game without a starting left tackle. He was also short DeVante Parker. The Dolphins hope to have Parker back this week as well. Parker has been suffering from an ankle injury.

The Dolphins will play the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. The Ravens are 3-4 on the season and have lost two in a row. Miami is on a three game winning streak.

Over the last several years the Ravens and Dolphins have squared off with playoff implications. This year it’s too early in the season to be divisive.

Miami also will start a three game stretch of primetime games. In case you are wondering, I’m trying to fill in just enough information so that the inserted Dolphins related articles column here on the right isn’t sitting all by itself with nothing to the left of it.

At least I didn’t put in another page!  Have a great Monday everyone and PHINS UP!
