The Miami Dolphins have become the first team in the NFL to partner with streaming music company Deezer. Because of course they did.

When it comes to interaction with the fans, the Dolphins are at the top of the hill. That is not debatable. Miami has always tried to find a way to let their fans get closer to the team and their players. Deezer is the next step in that direction.

Miami will have their own Miami Dolphins channel on Deezer that will play the music that the players listen to. So you might get a mix of dance, metal, and I am sure that there are a few players who will provide you with some rocking Celine Dion.

When I did the radio show On The FinSide I used to ask our guests from the Dolphins what the most embarrassing song on their media player was. Most of the time they answered. We got a few Britney’s, a Miley Cyrus, but the best was the admission of CEO Tom Garfinkel that he gets laughed at because he rolls up listening to old hip-pop music.

"The partnership will give Miami Dolphins fans access to a channel dedicated entirely to their favorite team, containing the official playlists of the Miami Dolphins team, the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders and mascot T.D. For those fans wondering how Miami Dolphins players get fired up each week, the channel also will feature Game Day and Warm-Up playlists. Via a team released statement."

Needless to say, this channel should cover a lot of ground. How this will work is still in the early stages and frankly I don’t much about Deezer.com or their service but will be paying attention to it for now because, why not. Who doesn’t like music? Oh yeah, my 14 year old son.

To be clear, I am not a member of this company or a subscriber and I was not approached to promote their service. I simply thought it was kind of cool that the Dolphins would have their own channel. It better freaking play the team fight song!
