The only value on the offensive line is Laremy Tunsil. He is on his rookie contract. Mike Pouncey is playing good but far from great football and his contract is $9 million in 2018. $7 million of that is recoverable so why even bother risking that money for a player who at any time could be placed on IR?

All of Ja’Wuan James money is recoverable so Miami should take that $9 million and buy another right tackle and a guard. Jermon Bushrod will be a free agent and frankly isn’t a viable option and Ted Larsen who will be in year two of his two year contract would cost just over $800,000 to release.

Miami can keep Jake Brendel and let him compete to start at center. They can keep Jesse Davis and Zac Sterup to compete as well. What they really need to do is replace four of the five offensive lineman and now might be the best chance they have to do that.

Through the draft and free agency Miami should be able to find suitable options that are more than just camp competitions and cheap veterans. Miami can’t be overly cheap here and they need to recognize that they have to spend on the Oline or risk more of this offensive struggle.
