Andy Dalton and Colin Kaepernick

Say what you want about Kaepernick when he came into the league he was a star ready to bud. He took the 49’ers to the Super Bowl in his rookie year. A product of coaching and scheme perhaps? Dalton until last season has not missed the playoffs. He is at time erratic and that too could be a coaching issue. Regardless both players would have made the Dolphins better than Chad Henne.

A year later in 2012 the Dolphins made Ryan Tannehill the first, first round quarterback since Dan Marino to be drafted by the Dolphins. Tannehill is a question heading into the 2018 season primarily because of his knee issues.

Had the Dolphins opted to wait a round or two they could have drafted Russell Wilson, Nick Foles, or Kirk Cousins who dropped to round four. While only Wilson has shown to be far better than Tannehill at this point, Cousins has turned in about the same type of career.
