The rest of the worst

By the time the season ended on New Years Eve the Dolphins season had long been over. While some of the headlines struck national chords, many of the Dolphins 2017 problems didn’t make a top 10 list. Here are some of those issues that Miami had to deal with.

Injured Reserve

Miami didn’t just lose Ryan Tannehill to IR they lost several starters.

Tony Lippett was lost in training camp.

Koa Misi was lost before training camp.

Ted Larsen was lost for eight weeks.

William Hayes was lost to IR.

Ja’Wuan James was lost to IR.

Anthony Steen.

Jermon Bushrod

Vincent Taylor

Injuries and concussions

The Dolphins lost Matt Moore to a leg injury. The injury forced Miami to use David Fales as the primary back-up. Moore missed the final month of the season and will not likely return to the Dolphins in 2018.

Jay Cutler suffered two injuries this year including a concussion and broken ribs. The injuries cost Cutler two games total. Largely inconsistent, Cutler is not expected back in 2018. He has stated that while he would not rule out a return, he won’t come back to the NFL as a back-up.

Later this week we will look back at the 2017 surprises.
