Lawerence Timmons

The Dolphins began the season on the road in week two due to Hurricane Irma but she wasn’t the only one leaving questions behind. As the team was readying to get on the busses to the stadium in L.A. to face the Chargers, Lawrence Timmons opted to leave the team.

Miami put out a missing persons report and Timmons was later found at an airport where he was waiting on a flight to Pennsylvania.

At first it was being reported that he had flown home to the east coast to deal with personal issues but others were reporting that he had simply left the teams hotel. One thing was certain, Timmons was not playing for the Dolphins.

Miami would win their first weeks game but lingering questions about Timmons’ future remained. The Dolphins would suspend Timmons indefinitely. By league rules the Dolphins could suspend him four games without pay and then would need to release him or reinstate him.

Following the teams second game in New York, the Dolphins reinstated Timmons. The suspension however cost Timmons portions of his guaranteed contract, a two year $11 million deal that was fully guaranteed. Timmons is not expected back with Miami in 2018.
