The Miami Dolphins didn’t have a lot to hang their hats on but they had plenty to hang their heads over. Looking back on 2017 though has some upside.

We already covered the laundry list of things that went bad for the Dolphins but not everything was horrible this past season. Some members of the team really showed a lot of promise and potential and the Dolphins turned some heads with some of their game play.

Miami got a lot of production from William Hayes for example. Despite losing him for the year mid-season to an injury, Hayes proved why is the best in the NFL at stopping the run. Miami’s defense played well with Hayes in the lineup. Heading to free agency this off-season, will Miami bring him back for 2018 and beyond?

Another bright spot that is not listed here is place-kicker Cody Parkey. Parkey did well for the most part this season. He had some issues with extra points and missed a couple of field goals but he showed a better consistency than former kicker Andrew Franks. Miami can’t say the same thing about punter Matt Haack who replaced Matt Darr.

Here is a look back at the positives from the 2017 season in no particular order.
