New York Jets – Sam Darnold – QB – USC

The Jets need a quarterback more than any other player on their roster. They gutted their veterans in the 2017 off-season and still played competitively throughout the year. Without a quarterback however they couldn’t turn that competitive team into notches in the win column.

The Jets will have three options with this pick, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, and Baker Mayfield depending on who the Broncos and Browns take before them. It is very possible that two of the three are gone when they are on the clock. Regardless of whether they have their choice of one or three QB’s they will draft one of them or the one that is left.

The Jets opted to keep head coach Todd Bowles for another season. Bowles is on a very short leash and it is likely because they don’t have a quarterback. He will have one more year with a top quarterback prospect to get them heading in a positive direction.
