Ryan Tannehill

The Dolphins say he is the starter in 2018 but beyond that? If Miami truly wants a quarterback for the future in this years draft then they will have the opportunity to find one. Tannehill then becomes the stop-gap bridge quarterback and at $19.8 million this season, well that is a lot of money for a stop-gap QB.

Trading Tannehill saves the Dolphins just over $15 million in cap space and that money would easily help fix the offensive line, add a tight-end, linebacker, or even bring back Jarvis Landry who would likely help a rookie QB more than Tannehill would.

The chances of Miami trading Tannehill are slim, but then again the names on this list are slim ones at best as well. Tannehill is coming off a knee injury but that has never stopped teams from taking chances. There are a lot of quarterback needy teams and while Dolphins fans have been down on Tannehill he is still a player that some believe will succeed.

Designating him a post-June 1st trade would save $17 million and only carry a $2 million cap hit.
