Quarterback

Ryan Tannehill will be the starter for the 2018 season unless he is traded or dumped. No reason to talk about salary cap hits and savings with Tannehill because it’s not likely to happen. Miami does however need to address the position.

Miami will lose Matt Moore to free agency. They need to find a more reliable back-up quarterback that has Adam Gase’s trust. They will also lose Jay Cutler, or at least they better, either to another team or to the broadcast booth. This leaves David Fales and Brandon Doughty.

Word on the street is that Miami has a lot of interest in Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater if the price is right. Bridgewater is coming off a devastating knee injury that has kept him off the field for almost two seasons. If the Dolphins do kick these tires expect a one or two-year prove it deal.

Outside of Bridgewater there hasn’t been much veteran quarterback talk but keep an eye on Trevor Simien and the Broncos as there could be interest. Remember these are back-up players not starters over Ryan Tannehill although Bridgwater could replace him eventually.
