The NFL Draft may provide better quality but Miami can’t wait for the draft and keep their fingers crossed. They need to improve a unit that will likely lose two members this year. Expect the Dolphins to not re-sign Koa Misi who spent all of last season injured with a neck injury and Lawerence Timmons should be released by the start of free agency.

With last years 2nd round draft pick Raekwon McMillan coming back the Dolphins have a linebacker they haven’t seen on the field yet but they have a player coming off an injury that sidelined him all season. Kiko Alonso returns and his contract is underwater for the Dolphins so he won’t be leaving. Miami still must address this position.

One player that has received some interest in the rumor mill is Redskins linebacker Zach Brown. Miami flirted with Brown last off-season but ultimately signed Timmons who proved to be a major mistake. Another player to watch is Tahir Whitehead of the Lions. Whitehead is a decent linebacker who won’t break the bank and plays with good consistency on the outside allowing the Dolphins to put McMillan back in the middle.
