Running Back

The Dolphins seem to really want C.J. Anderson but do they want him enough to take him in trade? We might find out today. Anderson is coming off his first 1,000 yard season in 2017. He is in the third year of a contract that was negotiated by the Miami Dolphins in 2016. The cap friendly deal that Anderson agreed to in 2016 was matched by the Broncos.

Denver seems ready to move on from Anderson and turn the duties over to a younger running back. Miami’s Adam Gase really likes Anderson so there is a big potential here.

Gase really likes Damien Williams as well. Williams will hit free agency for the first time in his NFL career after being hit with tenders the last two years. Williams is a good player and a better receiver out of the back-field but there are questions about what he brings to the team as a regular runner. That is not his strongest asset.

Another name to watch is Dion Lewis. Lewis however is likely going to draw a lot of interest around the NFL after a complete season in 2017 with the Patriots.

While teams can not meet with players or agree to contracts officially until Wednesday at 4:00 non-binding verbal agreements will be made in the next day or two. Let the shopping begin.
