The Miami Dolphins have been busy creating cap room ahead of today’s official free agency start which begins at 4:00 p.m.

The latest news which you can follow along with on DolphinsTalk.com’s daily podcast is cap clearing. Reshad Jones has restructured his contract to give the Dolphins more flexibilty and an extra $6.6 million to spend. The move converts a portion of Jones’ contract to a signing bonus of just over $4 million. That can be spread over the life of the contract so Jones’ receives the same amount of money as he would have.

The Dolphins appear to be interested in guard Josh Sitton. Sitton is one of the top guards on the market even though he is hitting 30 years old. The Dolphins are realizing that they lack veteran leaders on the offensive line and as they continue to rework the roster, Sitton makes a lot of sense for a unit who has struggled.

Ja’Wuan James appears to be staying in Miami. Although details have not been released on the Dolphins offer to James, Miami reportedly told the Broncos that they were not going to trade James and mid-afternoon Tuesday, James posted an Instagram photo of him in a Dolphins jersey with a catch tag that alluded to having unfinished business.

On social media yesterday a post was made showing a text exchange between former Dolphins offesnsive lineman Anthony Steen. The exchange between the two showed Steen saying he was leaving Miami. The Dolphins have not officially announced his release but he was told that they would do so.

On DolphinsTalk, who have been keeping up with everything from the Albert Wilson and Danny Amendola contracts to the free agent departures, are joined by NFL Insider Benjamin Allbright as well as Zig Fracassi of Sirius/XM NFL Radio. They talk about what is going on and what could be going on at the 4:00 bell this afternoon.

Mike and Tom also talk about the departures of Jarvis Landry and Ndamukong Suh as well as Anthony Steen and Cody Parkey’s departures as well. This is the one cast you don’t want to miss.
