Cleveland Browns – QB – Sam Darnold

The Cleveland Browns could go with Baker Mayfield here as well or they could simply draft Saquon Barkley. Barkley is the much smarter move for the Browns considering they hold the 4th overall pick as well. By taking Darnold they are guaranteeing that they get the quarterback they want.

Cleveland is not likely to entertain trade offers with the number one pick unless it involves moving down only one or two spots. Cleveland has a recent history of moving draft picks to acquire more but they really need to start using those selections on players that will have a major impact on the roster.

Despite the trade for Tyrod Taylor the Browns need a franchise quarterback of the future so drafting one at the top makes a lot of sense despite the franchise’s awful history with drafting quarterbacks. Cleveland also picked up Carlos Hyde in free agency so running back may not be the top priority at the top of the draft.
