John Denney

For 13 seasons Iron Man John Denney has lined up as the teams long snapper. He was schedule to be a free agent at the start of the season but no one believed he would play for another team. Denney is a Dolphins lifer and when he finally decides he has had enough, he won’t play somewhere else to keep his career moving.

Re-signing Denney is a committment to the teams dynamic and keeps a leader on special teams on the roster. Denney is one of those players that is an open book so to speak. He is approachable and doesn’t shut himself off from the roster.

Younger players can approach Denney for advice on a myriad of subjects and when Denney goes on to the field he practices as a hard as most of them. Entering year 14, all with the Dolphins is a huge accomplishment for any NFL player regardless of position. Keeping Denney was a smart move on the part of Adam Gase.
