Da’Ron Payne – DT – Alabama

The Dolphins got rid of Ndamukong Suh and will go with Jordan Phillips and Davon Godchaux on the line but if they draft Payne Miami has a very good rotation of defensive lineman and Payne could be the best defensive tackle in this years draft.

Drafting Payne isn’t flashy but there is a hole at defensive tackle and the depth at the position isn’t great. While he may not seem like an immediate need the Dolphins like to rotate their defensive lineman to keep them fresh.

Payne is quick for his size and has the ability to use that speed to get off blocks, stop the run, and create pocket collapse in passing situations. He is very athletic for a 6’2″ 311 pound defensive lineman.

Payne could be the prospect that Miami needs to replace Suh and again while not the flashy pick at 11, he is one of the top prospects that could make a difference from day one.
