2012 NFL Draft – Ryan Tannehill
Say what you will but Tannehill has developed into a decent quarterback. It is hard to determine what direction he will take coming back from his ACL injury and whether or not he can improve. Tannehill is one of those players that simply lacked coaching and direction under Joe Philbin. He was often held to robotic play calling and was not allowed to run the ball or audible. That changed under Adam Gase who has given him more freedom.
Will that freedom continue?
Gase has had Tannehill for 13 games of his coaching career and it appeared that Tannehill was thriving in Gase’s system before the ACL injury. Now it is a matter of Tannehill returning to the team, staying healthy, and whether or not he can still develop. And whether or not Miami will give him the time to develop.
The 2012 draft class also produced DE Olivier Vernon who had a stellar final season on his rookie deal that he was able to turn into a huge free agent contract with the Giants. He has been a little better than average since leaving Miami.
Lamar Miller played great for the Dolphins but Miami opted not to retain him and he has played the last few years in Houston signing with them in 2016.
