2015 – 2017

At this point it is still too early to tell if the draft classes will produce long-term solutions at any position. In 2015 the Dolphins drafted DeVante Parker in round one but it has been Jordan Phillips taken in round two that has played better. He enters the final year of his rookie contract.

In 2016 the Dolphins were surprised to see Laremy Tunsil fall but thus far Xavien Howard seems to have the edge when it comes to making an impact and Howard has only had one half of a season playing at a top-level.

2017’s draft class could still be one of the best or one of the worse. Linebacker Raekwon McMillan lost his rookie season to a knee injury and first round pick Charles Harris has yet to make an impact of any kind. Third round pick Cordrea Tankersley may prove to be a good corner opposite Howard but needs more time to develop as well.

Miami may have found a gem in the 5th round of last years draft. Davon Godchaux played very well in his rookie season and the Dolphins believe he has the talent and drive to be very good for the team long-term.
