2005 NFL Draft – Ronnie Brown
Ronnie Brown earned a Pro-Bowl nod in 2008 when he was the focal point of the Wild Cat offense. When not running the gimmick play Brown was still better than average and played much better than the other two running backs taken in the top five of that draft class.
Brown played much better when he was on the field splitting carries with Ricky Williams but Brown would only last for six seasons with the Dolphins before leaving for Philadelphia and finally San Diego.
The Dolphins first draft under head coach Nick Saban wasn’t horrible. The Dolphins also drafted Channing Crowder who played well at linebacker until injuries began to takeover his career. Unfortunately Saban was not able to maximize the talents of the rest of his draft class.
