2006 NFL Draft – Jason Allen

It is difficult to choose one player out of this draft class to be the best simply because none of them amounted to much on the field. Allen spent four and a half seasons with the Dolphins before being moved midway through the 2010 season to Houston.

The draft class was so bad that many believe that Saban’s decision to leave the NFL was in part based on his inability to draft players compared to recruiting players at the college level. Saban had six draft picks in this class and only Crowder and Brown had any substantial impact on the franchise’s future.

Matt Roth would carve out a respectable career with the Dolphins but Roth was never a game changing defensive end and his time in Miami was marred by injury and inconsistent play. He would be out of the league in 2011, one year after Crowder stepped away.
