2010 NFL Draft – Reshad Jones
Jones was drafted in 2010 in the 5th round. He was one of two players, Nolan Carroll, drafted in the 5th round of that class. Jones has gone to the Pro-Bowl and is playing his 2nd season on a new contract extension signed at the start of the 2017 season.
Jones has been one of the top safeties in the NFL. Last season his production dipped a bit and Miami expects his production to improve in 2018. Jones has been a hard-hitting safety for the Dolphins who has great run support on defense.
Jones is the longest tenured Dolphins draft pick as noted earlier.
In 2017 the Dolphins re-worked the contract of linebacker Koa Misi drafted in the 2010 second round. He was guaranteed $2 million but never made it training camp and will likely end his career this off-season at some point due to a neck injury that he sustained in 2016. Misi was a solid run stopping linebacker who was good in coverage but the Dolphins were never able to find adequate linebacker support to surround him with.
