Pick 2 – New York Giants

Saquon Barkley – RB – Penn State

Sam Darnold is still on the board and the Giants would be smart to take him but Barkley is an immediate impact player on a team that desperately needs help at running back.

Eli Manning‘s career is heading to closure and the Giants need to find a replacement but I think they will look to round two for a quarterback that can sit behind Manning for a season or maybe even two. The Giants however need to make plays on offense and drafting a quarterback who won’t see the field until 2019 at the earliest won’t help them win.

Barkley is the best running back in this draft by far and the Giants can plug him in day one. Having a play maker at running back will also help extend the life of Manning beyond one year.
